This study investigated the point of intersection of teachers’ and learners’ perceptions regarding language learning strategies. It compared the frequency of strategy use reported by students with the importance teachers give to those strategies.
There was a high level of accord (71 per cent) between what students use and what teachers value, an encouraging finding that was somewhat at variance with the results of some previous studies.
